About this Course
This course will provide students with psychoanalytic insights and ideas regarding substance abuse/addictions. Applications of these concepts will be discussed using clinical work from the instructor, as well as from class participants.
- Summarize the contribution of psychoanalysis to the field of substance abuse and substance addiction.
- To identify how these ideas broaden treatment options in working with substance abuse and addiction.
- To analyze when psychoanalytic thinking can best influence the clinical treatment of clients suffering with substance abuse and addiction.
