Dr. Glenda Corstorphine, Psy.D.

This series of six weekly sessions (1.5 hours each) offers pre-licensed and licensed therapists a safe and confidential place to get help with difficult cases, discuss professional challenges, and explore new ways to approach clients. The instructors will provide participants with tools to cultivate a foundational understanding of various psychoanalytic theories.

This course has six weekly sessions of 1.5 hours per week.

Sessions are offered continuously throughout the year. Upcoming sessions: Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27, Oct. 4, 11, and Nov. 8,  15, 29, Dec. 6, 13, 20

Course Objectives: 

1. Discern differences between psychotherapy
and psychoanalysis.
2. Discuss cases from different psychoanalytic
perspectives.
7. Demonstrate a basic understanding of the
benefits of dream work
3. Identify transference/countertransference issues.
4. Recognize clinical dilemmas and boundary
issues.
5. Gain confidence exploring Psychoanalytic
literature.
6. Listen for unconscious and conscious aspects of
experience.
8. Engage in processing and examining the
therapeutic relationship from a psychoanalytic
perspective.
9. Apply psychoanalytic thought to clinical work.
