COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course includes 8 monthly meetings for reading, discussion, and consultation regarding participants’ work with TGNC clients. Our emphasis will be on the therapy process, with opportunities to apply our thinking to specific cases. Readings will be chosen from recent psychoanalytic writings and gender-related research. This course is designed for clinicians who already possess an intermediate to advanced understanding of TGNC issues.
PRESENTOR BIO:
Dr. Laura Caghan is a psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice. She holds both personal and professional connections to gender diversity; together these inform her conference presentations and consultations with therapists. Dr. Caghan is also the President of the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute, where she teaches and supervises psychoanalytic candidates. With offices in Irvine and Garden Grove, her other clinical interests include early trauma, depression and anxiety, work and creativity.

OPEN TO:
Licensed clinicians and clinicians-in-training who possess a clinical Master’s degree
COST:
$30 for each 90 minute meeting, totaling $240.
The whole course must be paid before the first class session.
CEs:
MFTs, LCSWs, & psychologists will receive 12 hours of continuing education credit.
